There is no garbage disposal, so please throw away food scraps! 😊

The entire island has septic tanks, so PLEASE do NOT flush feminine hygiene products, wet wipes (even those that say “flushable”), or hair from showers. PLEASE dispose of in a trash can. Thank you! 😊

Do not leave open windows and doors, as there are no screens and will force the HVAC to run constantly. Thank you! 😊

The internet network is called "Blue Sky"

The WiFi password is "Vacation!"

Please keep in mind the internet is a DSL connection, so it's definitely going to be slower than high speed internet at home. In this area of the Outer Banks, there are very limited options for high speed internet, the DSL option is the slower of the two, but it's the most stable by far. After much thought, we decided it was better to have slightly slower internet most of the time than faster internet some of the time. 

 Please take out to end of driveway each Sunday and Wednesday evenings. Space them at least 2 feet apart from each other. Please bring back to under the house the next morning. Trash on the island is collected in the middle of the night: anytime between 1am-5am.  

 In the family room you'll find our Little Free Library, Help yourself to a book! If you finish it, leave it, and if you didn’t and want to, feel free to take it!, and maybe in the future when you come stay again, you can return it or bring a new one to add! 😊

In the primary bedroom you'll find a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse on the desk for your use. The monitor hooks up through HDMI, the keyboard connects through USB, and the mouse is wireless. The wireless adaptor is located inside the battery compartment on the bottom of the mouse. Please remember to leave the USB wireless adaptor when you check out! 

Each TV in these rooms is equipped with a Roku, so you'll find two remotes in these rooms (one for the TV and one for the Roku). You'll use the TV remote to power on the TV and control volume, and the Roku remote is used to access the Roku apps. Feel free to download and use any app on the Roku, but just remember to sign out when you leave!

There is not a TV remote located in this bedroom, but there is a Roku remote. To power on the TV, the power button is located on the bottom right side of the TV bezel. It's a touch sensitive button (it'll detect your finger and automatically turn on). The volume for the TV is controlled by the external speakers sitting on either side of the monitor.

There is only a single universal remote for the family room that will control all devices. When turning on and off the TV, press the "TV" button on the remote and press the power button. When accessing the Roku device, press the "STRM" button and you'll have full access to the Roku and apps. The universal remote will always adjust the audio that is controlled by the Yamaha receiver sitting on the media center. If you aren't hearing any audio from the TV, check the Yamaha receiver is on and set to "D-TV/LD". If the receiver is on, set to D-TV/LD, make sure speaker A is turned on in the lower left corner of the receiver. 

We hope you enjoy the hot tub as much as we do. Be sure to unlatch cover before lifting it off. Be sure to relatch cover when done using the hot tub every time you get out. Please turn off the jets and lights when not in use as well.
